Versions of them exist across social media platforms and their popularity is only growing in the face of the accountability era. If you’re browsing the internet, it’s only a matter of time before you stumble upon the likes of men’s rights missionaries such as Jordan Peterson, Andrew Tate, Ben Shapiro or Kevin Samuels. This ideology has picked up momentum at a rate much faster than the cause that sparked it in the first place, most likely because it’s as simple as going back to the established school of thought that prompted feminism in the first place. The MeToo movement was an unprecedented global pushback against patriarchal social structures, the downside of which was the birth of a rapidly growing counter-counterculture that positions men as victims of female empowerment.
